2125 Eighth Ave S. Breaking Ground

The Nashville Post:

“Groundbreaking looms for a mixed-use four-story building to be located in the Douglas Corner area of the fast-changing Eighth Avenue South corridor.

The project has been planned since mid-2017. Its start was put on hold due to design upgrades and improvements, according to local developer Brendan Donelson, who owns the property.

The 13,000-square-foot-building will sit on a 0.21-acre site at 2125 Eighth Ave. S. near comedy club Zanies and across the street from the structure home to Gruhn Guitars. The city’s fast-changing Melrose district sits a few blocks to the south. No building will require demolition for the project, with the building to sit adjacent to Lofts on Eight.

Donelson, who acquired the property in August 2015 for $200,000, said the Nashville office of Atlantic Union Bank’s home loan division will lease the first floor. Atlantic Union, for which Donelson serves as a sales manager, will move from its office on Glen Echo Road in Green Hills. Donelson said the building will allow Atlantic Union to have multiple sales offices and support spaces. He anticipates up to eight employees eventually working from the space.”
