Southview on 2nd is a new residential development consisting of 11 modern townhome units comprised of five 2-family homes and one single family structure. Phase 3, called “the Lofts on 2nd”, consisted of (2) 4-unit buildings with an innovative 1-bedroom micro layout.

Located in an area blighted by dilapidated homes and crime, this project was envisioned as the catalyst for positive change and redevelopment within a transitioning neighborhood. The goal was to recapture the rhythm of the broken urban fabric that has deteriorated over time and establish a higher density in an area that is adjacent to the urban core. The homes offer a contemporary twist on an urban townhome and offer amenities such as private rooftop living and soaring two-story spaces.

These 11 modern loft residential units were designed to complement and enhance the shared green spaces while protected parking and controlled entrances offer the passive surveillance necessary within a transitioning area. The pedestrian connections were designed to aid in separating the public and private areas within and outside the homes. The floor plans were carefully designed to respect the privacy of the residents, pushing private areas back into the homes while the homes themselves still engage the public street at a pedestrian-friendly scale. All units have rooftop decks with views of downtown and provide the opportunity for individual customization for rooftop living.
